INDUSTRIAL ELECTRICIAN
Job description

1. Job Outline - Responsible for but not limited to:
​
- Qualified Electrician required for industrial installation work and OEM machine building, working at both place of work, and customer premises.
- Work will involve building and installation of new industrial equipment such as conveyor systems, or bespoke machinery, as well as fault finding and maintenance of existing equipment.
​
- Must be a good team player, however, also able to work using your own initiative.
​
- Follow company health and safety procedures and wearing the correct uniform and PPE.
​
- Keep a neat and tidy workspace.
​
Experience in:
- 3 phase system installation and distribution.
- Motor control installation and fault finding including VSD.
- Control systems installation and fault finding.
- Safety systems installation and fault finding.
- Understand industrial electrical schematics drawings.
- Pneumatic control, installation and fault finding.
- Cable containment installation and cable termination.
- Panel building.
Desirable Experience:
- Ability to fault find on PLC’s using software.
- Ability with mechanical fault finding and breakdowns.
Qualifications:

- Relevant EAL Level 3
- NVQ level 3 qualification or equivalent, with AM2
- BS7671 18th edition IEE wiring regulations.

Additions (Preferred)
​
- Experience of working in food and pharmaceutical industries.
​
- Experience with, or knowledge of conveyor systems.
​
- Fork truck and IPAF license is an advantage /or willingness to be trained in these operations.
​
- Willingness to work at height as part of our operation. This could be either on scaffolding, ladders, or powered machines (such as cherry pickers and scissor lifts etc).
​
- Willingness to train as confined space operative (this is work we carry out but if candidates meet other requirements, then this could be considered at that time).
​
- Willingness to be trained on new equipment the company invests in.
​

2. Working Hours
​
​Standard working week is 40 hours, with over-time expected, during weekdays and on the weekend.
​
Starting hours may vary, depending on customers’ needs and certain projects. The standard workday concludes after 8 hours; however, overtime is expected.
​
​We typically have plenty over-time available, however, cannot always guarantee this. Typical overtime is accumulated over Saturday's and Sunday's, with 8+ hours available. Many of our staff work 20+ hours overtime a week, which hugely increases their take-home annual pay.
​
We offer our customers a 24/7 service and can be called out at any time during the day or night. As a result, you may be called out to a job, however, this is compensated with a minimum 4-hour pay, up to 4 hours, then hourly pay afterwards.
​
Our factory is based in Tredegar, but we can be expected to visit and work at our customers sites in various parts of Wales/the West country, and many other parts of the UK. As a result, we require our team to spend nights away for work, or training requirements, when needed.
​
​Since we are a small business, we require all our team to have a flexible approach and the ability to be compatible with the other team members.
​

All employees will be provided with company branded work clothing, along with all PPE.

Standard rate is £15.50 - with Overtime rates being time and a half (1.5) and double time (2.0) - these will be explained fully if successful.
​
28 Day Total Annual Leave (21 days + 7 bank holidays).
​
